* Wallbox Power Recovery Unit is required for Backup Power functionality; Quasar 2 charger alone cannot power home in the event of electrical grid blackout. Quasar 2 and Power Recovery Unit may not be compatible with all devices and homes. Backup Power feature is projected to provide up to 3 days of power in areas of a home, based on an average 25 kWh daily usage and 99.8 kWh battery with 100% charge at start, when the home is properly equipped. Results, including time it takes to charge, may vary depending on your actual energy consumption, vehicle usage and maintenance, charging practice, battery age, weather, temperature, size of home or area, battery’s state of charge, and other factors. Backup Power feature can be used until a 20% battery state of charge. Quasar 2 and Power Recovery Unit must be in a residential garage or carport with shade and ventilation.
**Average installation cost depends on the proximity of the electrical panel to the installation location and the type of main panel servicing your house.The installation consists of up to 20ft of 1" conduit and number 4awg wire to the charger, installation of all required hardware, and critical loads panels will be included for houses containing all-in-one services.
***Utility interconnection fee is required to proceed with the installation of the Quasar 2 and PRU.

What is the ordering process for Quasar 2?

  • Reserve your Quasar 2 now.
  • On our confirmation e-mail, click on the link to start the installation assessment by COIL, a Wallbox certified installer, who will provide the final installation quotation.
  • Upon acceptance of the quotation, we will initiate the Interconnection Agreement with your utility company
  • Once approved, we’ll notify you to complete the final payment, including the Quasar 2 and Installation. You can always request a refund of your deposit at any time before you make the final payment.
  • Your product will be delivered, and a COIL installer will visit your home on the agreed date to complete the installation.

Are there any requirements for installing Quasar 2?

The Quasar 2 is designed for single-family and semi-detached homes. Here are the key requirements for installation:

  • Vehicle Compatibility: Kia EV9 with bidirectional software update (please consult your Kia dealership for details)
  • Installation Type: Hardwired; not compatible with NEMA connectors
  • Electrical Protection: Requires external overcurrent protection
  • Connection Type: Split-phase, 240V/120V
  • Interconnection agreement: A required permission from your utility company
  • Electrical Panel: Must be rated at 100 Amps or above and, if using Backup Power, below 200A.

What grants are available to help make my Quasar 2 purchase more affordable?

Quasar 2 orders are eligible for two grants to help reduce the purchase cost. The Alternative Fuel Vehicle Refueling Property Credit (30C) provides a federal tax credit of $1,000. Additionally, the VGI Pilot offers California PG&E customers $2,500 upfront and an additional amount up to $2,175 based on pilot performance.

What's the refund and cancellation policy?

You can request a refund of your deposit at any time, according to the terms outlined in the T&C.

*To use the Backup Power functionality, the Wallbox Power Recovery Unit is required and your home electrical service must not exceed 200A. If your home already has a Gateway or Islanding Switch, you don't need a PRU. For V2G functionality, please check your local utility to ensure availability. **Final quote will be delivered after the installation assessment takes place.
